# What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy method designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. It's also been adopted to treat other conditions, like anxiety, grief and panic disorder, and more, for both kids and adults. During the therapy, the patient will think about emotionally disturbing material while simultaneously focussing on external stimuli, for example, eye movement and sound.
